EARLY MORNING FRYER + BAKER

Do you love baking, enjoy staying busy, and work well independently?

Sheila’s Baking Co. is looking for a dependable, efficient early-morning fryer to join our pastry team. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working independently, thrives in a fast-paced and structured environment, and takes pride in producing beautiful, consistent doughnuts.

You'll be the first person in the bakery each morning, getting our doughnuts, fritters, and pastries ready for the day ahead.

If you're an early riser who loves the satisfaction of getting a lot accomplished before most people start their day, this could be a great fit for you.

THE SCHEDULE

The schedule repeats every two weeks:

WEEK 1
Tuesday: 3:00 AM–6:00 AM
Thursday: 3:00 AM–6:00 AM
Saturday: 3:00 AM–9:00 AM

WEEK 2
Wednesday: 3:00 AM–6:00 AM
Friday: 3:00 AM–7:00 AM

Shifts range from approximately 3–6 hours
Every Sunday + Monday off
Short shifts leave most of your day free
Availability around major holidays is required
Longer shifts may be required during holidays and busy seasons

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your morning will begin with firing up the fryer and ovens and preparing our doughnuts and pastries for the day.

You'll be responsible for:

Frying doughnuts and fritters to our quality standards
Baking cinnamon rolls and cruffins
Glazing and finishing doughnuts and fritters while managing the fryer
Carefully monitoring bake and fry times to maintain consistency
Keeping your work area clean and organized throughout your shift
Breaking down and thoroughly cleaning the fry area at the end of production
Washing dishes and equipment used during your shift
Deep cleaning the fryer and fry station on Saturdays

This is a fast-moving production position that requires you to manage several things at once while maintaining consistent quality.

COMPENSATION

$20.50/hr

REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to reliably arrive for a 3:00 AM start time
Reliable transportation
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable safely operating commercial fryers, ovens, and bakery equipment
Able to stand and work at a fast pace throughout the shift
Availability around major holidays
Flexibility to work longer shifts during holidays and busy seasons

What You'll Do

Welcome and serve every guest with genuine hospitality
Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, and specialty beverages
Package and present pastries with care
Accurately process guest orders and payments

Position Details

Part-Time (16–25 hours per week)

Typical Schedule

Tuesday–Saturday
5:30 AM–2:00 PM
Saturdays are required
Closed every Sunday and Monday
No late nights

Compensation

Approximately $15–$17 per hour, based on tips

Requirements

Customer service experience preferred
Barista experience is a plus, but we're happy to train the right person
Reliable transportation
Ability to accurately handle cash and transactions
Must be at least 18 years old
